Who we are

Pangaea is an independent design consultancy that grew out of Formula 1. We thrived in this cutting edge, fast-moving environment and the experiences that shaped and define us as people, make us different.

We want to take our experience of designing in F1 to clients and brands seeking to gain an edge over their competitors. We do this through a process we call DynamicBranding.


DynamicBranding is a team-centred process, whereby we bring the best minds together to get to the heart of the brand – explore every touchpoint where design affects the interactions and experiences markets and audiences have. Then, we start to design and build out the brand elements – identity, tone of voice, communications, moving image – to create a unique dynamic edge.

DynamicBranding is run with pace and precision to be most effective and efficient with our clients’ time and budgets.

Carlo Belli, Creative Partner
Carlo was Williams F1’s creative leader for five seasons, designing all brand touch points from sales and commercial materials to the Formula One car’s livery. In a world where brand value is measured in millions, Carlo saw to it that Williams and its clients were always perfectly presented. He specialises in 3D design, brand identity, digital and design for print.

Joe Swallow, Creative Partner
Before co-founding Pangaea, Joe led a number of work streams for Waitrose and John Lewis. Like both Carlo and Scott, he prospered in the commercial cauldron of Formula One and he retains a rare calmness under pressure. Joe is an expert in visual communication and the practical application of visual identity across both print and digital media.

Scott Garrett, Managing Partner
Scott has worked in five continents and more than 30 countries adding value to major brands as communicator, strategist and commercial leader. Former employers include Saatchi & Saatchi, NIKE, Heinz and Williams F1. He blends international leadership, a deep understanding of the value of strong brands, a passionate belief in the power of teamwork and an ability to communicate complex ideas simply.
