Our key challenge was to create a brand that worked in the nascent worlds of NFTs and Web3 whilst still remaining authentic and relevant to the motorsport fan. With their heritage in Formula 1, strategic mindset and super creative reputation, Pangaea were our natural choice for a partner to create and grow the Torque Squad brand.

Blockchain based gaming company, Animoca Brands, whose motorsport Web3 platform ‘Motorverse’ is due to be launched later in 2022, wanted to create a motorsport community for true enthusiasts.

Pangaea created the brand and strategy for this exciting new Web3 community, as well as the avatars for its NFT project, Torque Squad.

 

Torque Squad NFT avatars (candidly known as ‘Torqies’) provide a gateway for entry to the Motorverse via fashion / limited edition clothing, merchandise, events and DeFi (decentralised finance). So it was really important that each of the 8,888 NFTs or Torqies we created were unique pieces of art in their own right.

Hand-drawn with an unparalleled depth and perspective, each individual avatar is unique across six squads: Motorsport, Street, Future, Space, Ghost and Sentinel.

In addition to the brand identity and strategy, Pangaea implemented the brand’s roll-out, starting in Web3 and transitioning to real world executions such as promotional advertising and merchandise.

Pangaea continue to develop Torque Squad’s Web3 world, support its offline marketing as well as continue to build the Motorverse brand for launch later this year.
